Applying for a Student Loan

“I want to go to college and get a degree. Now I have to apply for a student loan.” I think in today’s times this is a very important choice one could make.  “But, how am I going to finance this for four full years of my life.  Wow, this could be a lot of money”.  Well, yes, it probably will be a big sum of money.

You need to look at the bigger picture.  Going to school for 4 to 6 more years, were is that going to get me in the end?  What it is going to get you is a higher paying job when you graduate.  Expenses are high and only get higher and higher.  When I was a kid, my parents made about $35,000 combined salaries and we lives really good.

Today, my husband and I make about $100,000 combined salaries.  We live well, but probably not as well as our parents had it?  Sometimes we wonder, “How are we going to pay that this month”.  My point is, if you want to get somewhere good in life you have to work for it.  When I started in the work force some 30 odd years ago, you could start from the bottom and work your way up in a reasonable time.  In today’s market, they want college graduates to start at the bottom and work there way up.  Times are a changing.

So, you have made this huge decision, now you need to decide how you are going to pay for it.  Start at the computer to apply for a student loan.  Just like the decision you made to continue your education; you need to be just as cautious making your student loan choices.

When you do apply for a student loan, you will fill the weight off your shoulders.  There are so many options out there you may just freak out for a day or two before you make that decision.  Chill out and just weigh you options.  With a clear head, you will apply for a student loan that meets your financial needs.
